Abstract
The objective of the study is to estimate the effect of music therapy in reducing the academic stress of the nursing university student in the first cycle of studies of a University of Chachapoyas-Peru, 2018. Quantitative, quasi-experimental approach; the sample was 30 students distributed in an intervened group (14) submitted to the application of music therapy, and a control group (16). The results show that music therapy significantly reduces the academic stress of university students (t = 3.010, gl = 29 p = 0.005), thereby adapting to university life and academic performance can be improved.
